Wow, what a journey you’ve been on. Perhaps as a source of comfort, we’ve all experienced receiving some kind of guidance that we, of course, don’t notice or follow at the time, but which we later realize was a gentle prompting from the Holy Spirit. It usually comes at a cost when you don’t listen to or follow that guidance. But it’s something that has to be learned. Because He doesn’t come with trumpets and fanfare, but usually in a dream or a quiet thought. It takes time and patience to learn to discern whether it’s from God or just from ourselves. But He is so good… because He stands ready to catch us anyway when we fall and hurt ourselves because we chose to go our own way.
Yes, it’s always difficult to discern which judgment is true—whether you end up following the path of the Holy Spirit or that of the Enemy. I’ve been having these dreams for many years, but that doesn’t always mean others will heed the subtle hints either, so it’s like this: we have free will, and then we have the Holy Spirit whispering to us. But when you’re in a high-pressure or stressful situation, it’s easy to overlook those hints or not be fully present—which is exactly what happened this time. We haven’t had any peace for a very long time, and well, things happen, and then you just have to face the music. Thank you for your very lovely and thoughtful comment. K.H. Belle
